Ancestry.com and U.S. Civil War Soldier Records and Profiles provides the following information about Benjamin Franklin Gerry: He and his wife Salome had one child. Benjamin was the son of John and Mehitable Gerry. His military service record states his residence upon enlistment as Fall River and his occupation machinist. He enlisted in Co. A, MA 7th Infantry Regiment on 15 Jun 1861 and was promoted to corporal for brave conduct at the battle of the Wilderness. He mustered out on 27 Jun 1864.
