Other Information Fieldstone inscribed CW 1859 Both Luthan and Daniel Wing, first cousins who have marked marble gravestones in this cemetery, were the great-grandsons of Joseph Wing (1697-1778), who bought the farm from William Ricketson and established the Wing homestead. Joseph’s brother, Benjamin, born in 1698, had a son named Prince Wing (1750-1830). Prince married Jemima Howland (1757-1824) and the couple had no less than seven children. One of these was Catharine Wing, who was born in Westport on April 24, 1779. Catherine never married, and through most of her adult life she lived with her older sister, Content Wing, who also never married (1776-1857). Catharine was 80 when she died of tuberculosis on October 7, 1859. -Todd Baptista
