Supplementary Information6 Marked Stones in this Cemetery G.R. 47. - gravestone record, Davis private lot, Davis Road, Westport, Vital Records to 1850. Some bodies were moved to Swan Point cemetery and some seem to have been buried at Maple Grove. It is not known definitively if all Davis family (or other) remains were removed from this cemetery. The site is unkempt. It abuts Lots 1J, 1M, and 1T and is across from lot owned by Kenneth & Stacey Medeiros. We have records from Maple Grove that at least Rev. Perry Davis and Deacon Abiel Davis were moved to Maple Grove. We do not see records for the others at cemeteries in Westport so do not know if their bodies were also moved. We do note in the description that the bodies might have all been moved and we saw no engraved stones. Plan in Book 52, page 10 at the New Bedford Registry of Deeds (NBRD) shows the existence of the cemetery. The deed in Book 10431, page 298, at the NBRD states that there is a cemetery and not part of the deed. This is common with many cemeteries which did not have perpetual care by the town.
