G.R. 41.- gravestone record, Borden private lot, (formerly)Sanford Road, Westport, Vital Records to 1850. This cemetery was found accidently after several searches failed. Peter's gravestone is broken in two and held together with a metal brace. The burial ground is in an open field without an enclosure. There are approximately thirteen unmarked granite field stones in this burial plot. Peter Borden was of African heritage and may have been a slave in his early years.
